Howard Barry [aka hbcreative]

is a multi-media artist whose work is an ongoing therapy session, an attempt to make sense of the world around him, and his place within that world.

Howard was born and raised in St Louis, MO, and is currently based there. He earned his AAS in Graphic Communication at St Louis Community College (Meramec) and is pursuing further Art Education.

Howard describes his work as taking familiar (or unfamiliar) subject matter, reframing and presenting it in an attempt to challenge our knowledge or beliefs surrounding it. This “reframing” involves utilizing traditional mediums such as charcoal, ink, watercolor etc and non-traditional mediums like coffee, tea and vodka, often pairing them with paper, canvas and mixed media substrates including newspaper, music sheets, vinyl records/album covers, book pages and other print based textual materials.

Howard has exhibited work Nationally and Internationally and has work held in public and private collections.
